Ok, I’ll admit, the new crack is a bit extreme, but for me, it’s true! I have been addicted to lip gloss ever since I got my first Bonnie Bell Lip Smacker at the tender age of 10. Of course, back in those days I lived in Pennsylvania & could always use the excuse that my lips were dry, cracked or peeling from either dry or cold weather. These days I fully admit my addiction & my makeup box is literally bursting at the seams with glosses. I am much more particular these days about the gloss that I wear. Gone are the days when sticky & sweet are my preference. Now I like my lip gloss to make my lips feel smooth & infuse a bit of color as well. Fragrance/flavor is secondary but I like minty ones now since they make me feel as if my breath is freshened just by wearing them.
My favorite balm right now is EOS is Sweet Mint. At just $3.29 (at Walmart) it is reasonable & keeps my lips from getting dry. The great flavor also makes my breath smell great so it’s a win/win right here. More information on EOS at http://evolutionofsmooth.com/products/lipbalm-sphere/
My favorite all around gloss at the moment is Softlips in Coral. This gloss is so simple, just a great hint of color along with SPF 10 & never leaves lips feeling sticky. It’s ideal for me since it’s also small enough to have in the makeup bag & so inexpensive – you can actually find it at Walmart for less than $3! There isn’t a huge variety of colors, just 2 being coral & pearl. The Coral is a deeper shade of orange & very flattering for most skin tones. The pearl is a very light shimmery pink that would be great layered on top of another color of just left alone for that hint of shine. You can find out more information here: http://www.softlips.com/gloss.php
What are your favorite lip glosses/balms?

I had the pleasure of trying the Kiss Tornado Hair Dryer & am in love! I have naturally think hair that is a little longer than my shoulders right now & have always cursed my hair dryers since they took so long to dry my hair. I am not one to spend a ton on pricey tools, my past hair dryer brands consisted of Conair, Conair & more Conair… If you check out the technology that has gone into this hair dryer you will see why I love it so much!
Feature I love #1: The Spiraling Nozzle – this incredible hair dryer actually has a nozzle that spins & creates a “tornado” of air that dries hair super-fast! It also comes with a regular flat nozzle bit I love the spinning one 🙂
Feature I love #2: The turbo 1875 watt motor – Sort of like men liking fast cars, I love the powerful motor & high wattage of this dryer. It’s as if they read my mind when they created it (as well as the mind of every other woman with thick hair or who hates how dryers can take forever to dry).
Feature I love #3: The ceramic tourmaline technology. You’re wondering what the heck this means for you aren’t you? well, in short, it means that your hair texture will be smoother as a result of this “advanced technology”.
You can check out all the features here: http://hairbykiss.com/WELCOME/tornado-360-2/
As a side note, I have checked to see where you can purchase it & it doesn’t look like it’s offered in stores just yet. I got my hands on mine by winning it in a “twitter party”. Stay tuned for more information, as I will post when it becomes available!
I was given the Kiss Tornado Hair Dryer from winning a giveaway & was not given the dryer in exchange for this review. My opinions are my own & do not represent the company.
I was recently introduced to Kiss Nail Dress for the first time & was amazed at how easy it is to have cool looking art on my nails. You literally just peel, apply & shape it for nail art that lasts up to 10 days. It peels back off so you don’t even need polish remover! This product is perfect for anyone on the go, or who doesn’t have a ton of time to have their nails done professionally. Nail dress is available is 18 different styles, even some with jewels! Top coat is built right in to save even more time.
I received a package of leopard print Nail Dress & love the look of it. I have it on my toe nails which my 17 year old daughter has them on her fingers. We’ve both had them on for a good week with no chips, tears or fading!
With 28 strips in each package, you can cut up your extras to create designs that can be used on top of polished or artificial nails. Nail Dress doesn’t dry out the way other polish strips can, so you can save them to use on your next DIY mani. A nail design booklet is included in each package, just in case you need a little inspiration.
Since nail art is all the rage these days, I love how this is an easy, inexpensive way to be on top of the trend.
Where to Buy
Nail Dress’ suggested retail is $6.99 and is available in all major drug chains and mass retailers like WalMart, CVS and Walgreens.
Visit KissNailDress.com to learn more!
Note: I received this product complimentary for testing and review purposes from Influenster’s Voxbox program

2/29/12 My hair has always been naturally curly…My nickname when I was little was Shirley Temple if that gives you a clue (and if you’re over 30 you’ll know who I’m talking about). When Japanese Thermal Reconditioning 1st came out & I lived in PA, I actually used to travel to NYC to get it done (because it was that much cheaper there…always looking for a bargain). It’s been about 10 years since I last straightened my hair professionally & I’ve been hearing all this buzz about Keratin Treatments. I decided to try the Suave® Keratin Infusion Kit when I was shopping at Wal-Mart with my husband.
When I 1st read the box, I got a bit apprehensive as it says you should not use it at all on bleached or hair which is lightened significantly. You see, I recently went from dark drown to dark blonde… Being the brave soul that I am, I decided to go for it…after all, if it went bad I could just get my hair chopped since I have plenty of length 🙂
The process is 3 steps, 2 of which consist of rinsing so don’t start this unless you have plenty of time to finish it… When you apply the 1st product, it smells just like perm solution/relaxer so you know exactly what you’re in for (I only left it on for 15 min instead of the 20 directed). The 2nd step is slightly better smelling & the last step is a conditioner which is also sold separately that I WILL be buying since it is amazing! I’m posting my photo to show how my hair looks now & no, it’s not pin-straight but it is as straight as I would ever want it to be 🙂 If the directions are followed, yours should look awesome!
I wasn’t paid or endorsed by Suave in any way & my opinions are my own.
Many months ago I found a recipe on Pinterest, one of my all time favorite web sites for homemade Biore Pore Strips. I have since deleted the original pin & am not sure who first published the recipe, otherwise I would give a link to it & credit the person who created it.
Here’s the recipe:
Take 1 Tbsp. of Knox unflavored gelatin and 1 1/2 Tbsp. milk.
Microwave for 10 seconds and apply to face. Let it dry for 30 minutes (will dry very stiff).
Peel it off.
I have used this recipe over & over again & doubt I’ll ever spend money on Biore Pore Strips again since the result is the same. I will however, warn you that you should apply it in a couple of layers since a single this layer is sometimes more difficult to remove & has required scrubbing. I love being able to make homemade beauty products, don’t you?
P.S. Always test a small area when trying any new product, since some people may have reactions, even to homemade products.
To give you a little background about my skin, I was plagued with pretty severe acne as a teen which graduated into combination oily/normal skin through my adulthood. My skin is also fairly sensitive & earlier this year even exhibited symptoms of rosacea with severe redness. When I won this system my skin was literally in a full-blown rosacea flare up. I was a little scared to use a sonic cleansing system on my already sensitive but figured I should at least try it. I have heard great things about it not only on twitter but from friends & in other online reviews.
The Clarisonic system is super simple & consists of a brush with a charger. They also have cleanser, which is included in the package. As soon as I put the brush on my face I knew it would either be fabulous or horrible since there was a strong vibration. The settings also allow for a t-zone times to be set where the Mia vibrates for a period of time then stops, indicating you should move it to the next facial area. My skin looked way cleaner than I ever got it using my hands to cleanse & couldn’t wait to use it the next day. I’ve been using it twice daily since I received it back in June & could not be happier with it. It is honestly one of those products that I don’t know how I lived without. The Clarisonic Mia 2 retails for $149 at Dillard’s, which sponsored the contest that I won it in. You can purchase your very own Mia 2 here.
I was lucky enough to win the Clarisonic Mia 2 in a twitter giveaway. I have not been compensated for my opinion. The opinions expressed here are my own.
